Put frequent tools in the easiest locations
Everyday cookware and utensils should be easier to reach than holiday-only equipment. Reserve high shelves and deep cabinets for low-frequency items.
Organize by zone
Keep pots near the range, bowls/measuring near the prep surface, baking equipment together and food containers near where leftovers are packed.
Audit duplicates
Multiple copies of the same marginally useful gadget consume prime space. Keep the versions that are comfortable, durable and easy to clean.
Store heavy items safely
Heavy cookware is usually easier and safer to handle from lower or waist-height storage than from overhead shelving.
Label only where it helps
Labels are useful for bins or less-visible storage, but organization should remain obvious enough that the system still works without constant maintenance.
